Statistical Test Flowcharts

Shown below are flowcharts for commonly used statistical tests within Six Sigma DMAIC projects in the ANALYZE phase. It is critical to establish the correct alpha and beta risks and gather the minimum sample size to ensure the power that is necessary. 

If the:

p-value is > alpha-risk, then fail to reject the HO (null hypothesis).

p-value is < alpha-risk, reject the HO and infer the HA (alternative hypothesis).
